The Los Alamitos Griffins stayed undefeated in Sunset League play with a 35-0 win over the Huntington Beach Oilers Thursday night at veterans Stadium in Long Beach.

Los Alamitos (6-3, 4-0), which came off an emotionally-charged comeback win over rival Edison last week, is now guaranteed at least a share of first place in league and can lock up first place outright with a victory over Fountain Valley on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The Griffins turned in another outstanding effort on defense, forcing the Oilers (3-6,2-2) to punt eight times, stopping them on downs three times and forcing one turnover.

But the offense started slow. Seven first half penalties hurt the Griffins  who had two touchdowns called back.

Los Al finally got on the scoreboard on their third possession with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Grant Caraway to Zach Ruiz.  Soon after a a 26-yard scoring pass from Caraway to running back Keanu Norman made it 14-0.

Norman added a 2-yard rushing touchdown to give Los Alamitos a 21-0 lead at halftime and scored on a pair of 3-yard runs in the third quarter.

Norman ended the game with three touchdowns, 101 yards in 18 carries and three receptions for 30 yards.
