The United States womens water polo team — with Griffin alum Rachel Fattal (LAHS ’12) – downed Spain 13-6 to win their second straight World water polo championship.

The match was played in Budapest, Hungary, home of some of the loudest, most knowledgable waterpolo fans anywhere.

Fattal, the 2012 CIF Player of the Year, UCLA All-American from Seal Beach, scored a goal in the title match, after scoring five goals against Russia in the semi-finals the previous day.
