Since 1961 The Emperors have been a Long Beach favorite. From teen dances to regional concerts, the band’s combination of tight ensemble playing, versatility, superb vocals and energetic stage show soon earned a recording contract with RCA, and later the New York based Private Stock Records. The band enjoyed moderate success on the national record charts and toured the U.S. and Japan.
In the 1980s, after twenty years of performing, touring, and personnel changes, the band Emperor disbanded. But after a successful reunion concert in 2002, the Emperors got back together to again play for the joy of performing and have been delighting audiences all over Southern California since then.
The Emperors are: Steve Watts (Drums / Keyboards / Vocals), Randy Budihas (Drums / Vocals), Joe Marques (Bass / Guitar / Vocals), Dave Quintana (Guitar / Vocals) and Chip Walsh (Keyboards / Harmonica / Vocals).
