Karen Kuns took over the reins of the Seal Beach Chamber of Commerce at the group’s annual installation breakfast held at Old ranch on September 13.

In addition to installing the new president and a new board of directors for 2018, the Chamber announced its award winning businesses for the year, got some brief remarks from outgoing President Scott Levitt and and listened to the featured speaker, Seal Beach native Sondra Haley who provided the large crowd inside stories about her years working the White House years of George H.W. Bush. Haley, the daughter of legendary seal Beach surfer and businessman, Jack Haley, has also worked in public affairs at Disney, the GAP and was Director of Communications for the NBA.
Members honored at the breakfast included Esther Kenyon (Emeritus Volunteer Award), Nate Ferguson (Ferguson Realty, the Seal Beach Business of the Year award), Tim Way (Volunteer of the Year), and Kori DeLeon (RTI Insurance, Business Person of the Year). DeLeon will also serve as Vice President for the coming year.
