ALUMNI VOLLEYBALL: Patterson records 2,000th assist as UofA setter

Los Al volleyball alum Julia Patterson became the ninth player in University of Arizona school history to register 2,000 career assists when the junior setter notched over 7 assists in a pair of games over the weekend.

The 23rd-ranked Wildcats downed Oregon State Friday night then fell in four sets to 16th-ranked Oregon on Sunday afternoon.  In the latter match, Patterson registered her fourth straight double-double (assists and digs) and 12th of the season, tying for the Pac-12 lead.

Patterson, a 2016 graduate of Los Al, was the Press Telegram Player of the Year of the Year as a senior.  She was also a starting setter on the Griffins CIF champion team in her sophomore year.

Last year, in her first year as the ‘Cats starting setter, she finished fifth in the Pac-12, averaging 10.14 assists/set.
