Former Los Al football standout Alex Redmond returns to Southern California this week as the starting right guard for the Cincinnati Bengals who take on the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday at StubHub Center.  Game time is 1:05.

Redmond, a Cerritos resident who graduated from Los Alamitos in 2014, played a couple years at UCLA before coming out early and undrafted  to sign a free agent contract with the Bengals for the 2016 season.  He seemed to have spent more time getting into fights and getting penalties than getting playing time for those first two seasons.

But this year, after losing almost 40 pounds, the 6-5, 210 Redmond has been the starter from pre-season.
