The sound of artillery fire will echo across communities surrounding Joint Forces Training Base (JFTB) on Saturday, May 15, commemorating the change of command of the California Army National Guard’s 100th Troop Command. The artillery salute by three M119A3 howitzers will highlight the formal ceremony at which Col. Zac Delwiche will relinquish command to Col. David M. Church. The ceremony will get underway at 10 a.m. but test firing will take place Saturday morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. in conjunction with ceremony rehearsals.
Following a traumatic year fighting the COVID-19 pandemic, the top executive of Los Alamitos Medical Center paid tribute to its employees to celebrate National Hospital and Healthcare Week. Started in 1921,the event has grown over the past 100 years to become the nation’s largest health care event.
LAEF is bringing its 12th annual Summer Enrichment Institute (SEI) back on-campus after offering virtual classes last year. Fun and academic enrichment classes will be offered to students in grades TK-12 in two summer sessions (June 28-July 29 and July 12-23). Classes are one hour and fifty minutes in length and run from 8:00am to 4:40pm each day of the session.
